Our Curriculum
Inspired by Reggio Emilia and Project-based approaches, our curriculum focuses on hands-on activities and projects that allows children to discover and explore freely through all their senses and languages. We believe in providing children with meaningful opportunities to construct their knowledge through daily encounters and experiences with their peers, adults, the community and the objects around them.
Kinderjoy Playhouse aims to provide children with enriching learning experiences in their early years and prepare them for their life-long journey of learning. Teachers in Kinderjoy Playhouse are viewed as the facilitators of children’s learning. As co-learners, collaborators and resource guides, the teachers listen, challenge, support and document the children’s learning experiences. In Kinderjoy Playhouse, we believe that the environment is the third teacher. Every corner is designed to encourage children to dive deeper into their interests.

Children are also sorted according to the levels, Nursery One/Two and Kindergarten One/Two as we believe that large age gaps between children and their vastly different levels of mental development will be harder to address than the relatively smaller differences in development within children of the same age group. While this offers less opportunity for students of different ages to interact, this is made up for through visits to public places beyond the school to develop friendships in the community and communal learning sessions with peers.
Our Programs
Our programs promote children’s interests and their natural quest for knowledge; leading to experiences in problem solving, inquiry, investigation, discovery and active hands-on explorations.
Nursery One (2 to 3 years old)
Children at this age are inquisitive and curious. For our N1 classes, we use the techniques of guidance and listening to provide opportunities for children to make sense of the world around them in a fun and safe environment.
Nursery Two (3 to 4 years old)
At this age, children are learning how to express themselves positively and work with others. Hence, in Nursery 2, we focus on using Guidance and Scaffolding to nurture the children's learning and behaviours.
Kindergarten One (4 to 5 years old)
Learning experiences will integrate a greater emphasis on knowledge acquisition. Problem solving and facilitation are the two main teaching techniques used for children of this age to further support their learning.
Kindergarten Two (5 to 6 years old)
This time and age involve nurturing children's curiosity and teaching them necessary social skills so that they engage in work and play with their peers as well as build their self- esteem and confidence. Hence, in kindergarten 2, we place emphasis on using Guidance and Scaffolding to nurture children’s learning and behaviours.
