Jocelyn Toh
Centre Director
Teaching and learning philosophy
The main view of her early childhood teaching and learning philosophy is that every child can and will learn. She views it as her responsibility to create a stimulating environment and to plan appropriate instructional tasks and opportunities so that this learning occurs. She believes that learning happens easily when the child is actively involved in the learning process, when the learning process is connected to the child’s interest and abilities, and when it is hands on.
Leadership philosophy
“My leadership philosophy is one that is democratic. I place a high level of importance and trust in my team and believe in them that they can do their job with little interference and provide guidance only when sought. I believe empowerment and accountability is the order of the day to realise the preschool's vision. When people have the opportunity to experience decision-making and subsequently achieve success in the process, they are more willing to generate new ideas and are more prepared to take on the challenge of any changes that may arise.

Shannon Ang
Deputy Centre Leader (Vice Principal)
Teaching and learning philosophy
Shannon does not view herself as a giver of knowledge but rather as a facilitator who helps children gather and construct knowledge and skills for themselves. She believes in a balanced approach in which she uses a variety of methods and tries to appeal to all types of learners as well as putting equal emphasis on all areas of child's learning and development. Just as she expects from herself, she sets high yet attainable expectations for my children, especially since I provide the necessary support to facilitate the children to reach the desired goal.
Leadership philosophy
To be a successful leader, I believe that it is important to form a 'human relationship' with my team to promote trust and mutual respect so that an open line of communication can be established. This open communication allows me to understand my team, their goals and needs better so as to achieve these goals and meet their needs.”
